The world may be in a darker place than it was nine months ago, when Germind released his last full-length album (Thoughtform), but the artist himself seems to be in a better space. As the title indicates, this album represents a view that refuses to give up hope. It is noticeably more upbeat than some of his previous work. In fact, Not Darkness may well be Germind's best album since Antimatter. Undergirded by his familiar, somber drones, it moves with a new positive energy.
